Eternal dilemma of writing. Like any art, is writing also hereditary? Is a writer born one? Or does he become one over time? When does the creative streak arrive in man? When and how do you discover you are a writer? I had partly addressed this discussion in my post You and writing, within the Writing program in 2013, arguing that both theses are in fact real and truthful: writers are born and become at the same time. Writers are born We are born writers: I believe the urge to create stories and worlds and the aptitude for writing are innate.
A writer is someone who creates stories and worlds: isn't this, after all, his job? And I'm not just Phone Number Datareferring to the fantastic, because when you write a story you are creating a world, a reality different from the present one. This is an innate characteristic, I believe. Not everyone is able to create and this applies to every form of art. A writer is someone who has an aptitude for writing: aptitude is a disposition of the individual that allows one to carry out a certain activity. A writer is someone who is inclined to write, someone who feels a strength within himself that pushes him to put together words, sentences, concepts, stories.
You become writers You become a writer: like any art, you have to learn the techniques and do a lot of practice. Learning the writing technique: writing is not just action, it is not just art. Like all arts it requires technique. The writer must learn to narrate, to construct dialogues, to produce plots that stand up. There are elements of creative writing that a writer must know, otherwise his stories will fall apart everywhere. Do writing exercise: write, write, write every day. Only in this way will the writer be able to master the words and writing techniques. Only in this way will he learn to make writing, the art of telling stories. The more he writes, the more he will refine this art and it will be increasingly easier for him to write a story.
